Music Therapy Success Stories & Reviews

Music Therapy FAQs & Funding Information

Music therapy is a clinical and evidence-based health profession that uses music interventions to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs. Unlike music lessons focused on learning instruments, music therapy uses music as a therapeutic tool to achieve non-musical goals like improving communication, managing pain, or enhancing memory. No musical experience is required.

Not at all. Music therapy is accessible to everyone, regardless of musical background or ability. Our therapists adapt sessions to your comfort level and preferences, using music as a medium for healing and growth rather than performance.

Music therapy is recognised under NDIS as a therapeutic support and can be funded under Capacity Building categories – Improved Daily Living when aligned with your plan goals. For aged care clients, music therapy may be funded through Support At Home program or residential aged care budgets.

Music therapy supports a wide range of needs including autism spectrum disorder, dementia, stroke recovery, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, mental health conditions (anxiety, depression), developmental delays, chronic pain, and social-emotional challenges. We tailor interventions to each individual’s presentation.

Program length varies based on individual goals and needs. Some clients benefit from short-term intervention (8-12 weeks), while others engage in ongoing therapy for continued support. Following your initial assessment, we’ll recommend a timeframe and review progress regularly to ensure therapy remains beneficial and goal-focused.
